Air Camp Location:

The Kettle Moraine EAA Chapter 1158 facility is located on the West Bend Municipal Airport 2 miles east of West Bend on Highway 33.  Their 12,000 square foot facility is fully renovated and includes a ramp-side patio, kitchen, restrooms, workshops, classrooms, and a large hanger.

Activities include:

 

·        Individual discovery flight in a Cessna 152 trainer

 with an FAA licensed instructor.

 

  • Flight in a glider.

 

  • Flight in a helicopter.

 

  • Flight in a hot air balloon. (tethered)

 

  • Cross country airplane flight to the EAA Museum in Oshkosh.

 

  • Hands-on take home projects

 

  • Supervised use of tools in construction of an aluminum wing section.

 

  • Instruction and practice in wiring an aircraft electrical circuit.

 

  • Discovery of important aviation historical events and pioneers.

 

  • Principles of science related to flight, aviation instruments, meteorology, and navigation.

·        Radio controlled model flight under supervision of experienced pilots.

 

·        Meeting with aviation professionals and valuable career information.

 

·        Tour of airport facilities.

 

·        Enjoyment of the company of other youth that share your interests.

 

·        Visitation to EAA Air Academy at Oshkosh.

 

·        Take home informational packet.

Your instructors: 

Members of the EAA 1158 are trained volunteers who love aviation and are committed to youth.

 

How to Enroll in

Air Camp 2007

Application:

Membership in Air Camp is by application with preference given to older applicants.  June 1 is the priority date.  Applications submitted after that date will be considered on a space available basis.

Cost:

Air Camp tuition is $210. Applications must include a refundable $25 payment applied to total.  Financial aid available upon request.

 

 West Bend Air supports Air Camp and provides scholarship/ financial aid assistance.  Upon acceptance, a liability waiver, medical information and additional information will be required.  Parent volunteers are always welcome.
